Mission of the Shark: The Saga of the U.S.S. Indianapolis (1991)

A true story based on the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis, its crew’s struggle to survive the sharks and exposure, and the captain’s court-martial. Cary played the captain of the Japanese submarine that attacked the USS Indianapolis.

Apparently, the US Navy decided to conceal the whereabouts of their ships, even those returning to shore (not heading off for battle)… leading to this incident. After this occurred, the US Navy decided to make known when a ship was returning to harbor.
